Stumped on what kind of dessert to have at your reception?  You're not alone.  There are so many choices out there, especially unique desserts from Durham alone, that we wanted to spark some ideas for you to pin now and treat yoself to later!

Here's our Go-To Guide for choosing desserts, and make sure to visit our Pinterest page for more Bull City Inspiration!

Traditional Cake: Don't feel like you are missing creativity if you have your heart set on a traditional cake!  This trend is alive and well, and probably will be until death do us part.

Cakes with a twist:  Naked cakes and themed cakes will give you opportunity to get whimsy with your dessert and be memorable for guests.

Cupcakes: O, the possibilities with cupcakes!  You can really let your theme shine and this is great for those couples that #wantalltheflavors!

Cheesecake: Awesome choice for those that still want that cake cutting photo op but don't want a traditional cake!  Serve it by the slice for your guests.

Pies: Pies, glorious pies! This is perfect for a family style event, you can place them right on the table for people to enjoy.  And don't rule this out if your wedding isn't in the Fall, the best thing about pies is that they can be totally on point for whatever season you are in.  Try a strawberry in April!

Tiny treats: Have your wedding dessert double as an edible favor!  Use bon bons, cake pops and more bite sized desserts to skip the traditional cake cutting, or in addition to it!

Outside the box..or carton: Go for something all together fun and interactive, like an ice cream sundae bar or make your own box of donuts!
